I don't like carrots, except that... I like carrot cake. A bit of an oxymoron.

And the best carrot cake in the WORLD is to be found in Knowlton, at Auberge Knowlton's restaurant, Le Relais.

When we left the house, we bee-lined for Knowlton rather than North Hatley. It must have been that strange wind, a bit like the mistral... a southerly dry and hot wind, a wind that disturbs... Or rather, it was an obsession for some carrot cake that drove us.

Although, you have to agree with me that this dining room is quite convivial and country-like. I have to live in one of the most beautiful regions of Canada.

And Saturday nights, the chef prepares his Angus prime rib. More than delicious!

But the carrot cake! No, I have no recipe for it. The only recipe I can give you is to go to Le Relais on Saturday night, for the prime rib, or Sunday, for the barbecue, or... or... (nope, I'm not sponsored by them - I just have a bad habit of saying what I think, especially when it's positive.)

What beautiful countryside! I never heard of the blue hour. I know what you're talking about though. I just love sunrise and sunset. They are the most beautiful times of the day.
The restaurant looks like fun! Oh, I do love carrot cake! What a beautiful presentation of the food!
