It was Christmas for me at the beginning of the week! Generous Brigitte sent me some pepper from Tasmania, some wild pepper from Madagascar (voastiperifery) and an Italian blend from the fine food grocery she shops at. I was thrilled! It was like a ray of warm and gentle sunshin in the bleakness of January! I admired, smelled, researched, then tasted. I found this following surprising bit of information: voastiperifery, it would seem, is excellent when paired with white chocolate!

The Feast of the Magi! What a lovely excuse to make some white chocolate custards flavoured with wild pepper from Madagascar!

I used my usual petits pots de crème au chocolat recipe, but I substituted with white chocolate... An hour later, I checked in the fridge... it was still liquid!

I put everything back into the pot and added 100g of white chocolate, I put the custards in the fridge and this morning, to my great chagrin, the mixture was still liquid! The upside in all of this? White chocolate is DELICIOUS with the wild pepper from Madagascar. Next time, I'll use this recipe found at Elle à table.
